Berytech organized a coffee-debate with HR expert Mrs. Renalda Hayek on Friday May 28, 2010 to discuss, with Berytech entrepreneurs, every day human resources challenges

The session, attended by dozens of community members, started with a lecture on the basics of HR understanding today, in which Hayek stressed that a successful organization must share its vision with its staff members. “Every company must make a brand promise to its stakeholders and namely its employees”, she said.

The debate covered also other aspects of HR such as successful recruiting and retaining of team members, motivating high company performers, defining core competencies in a job and providing objective performance feedback.
Participants had the opportunity to share best practices and ask different questions underlining their own challenges and concerns.
On the subject of retaining human capital, Hayek had a special tip for the audience: “Provide your staff with a clear and stimulating career development plan. People usually leave for two reasons: pressure on the inside and attraction from the outside.”
