On January 25, 2012, Berytech hosted an international Seminar on Innovation organized by Basil Fuleihan Finance Institute, titled: “Lebanon: a Mediterranean Pole at the Service of Innovation” and attended by fifty local and international participants.

The seminar featured a number of distinguished panelists of which Mr. Jihad Azour, former Minister of Finance, Mr. Denis Cassat, Director of the French Agency for Development (AFD), and Mr. Diego Escalona, Chief of Section at the European Delegation in Lebanon.
The day kicked off with a welcome word by Mrs. Lamia Moubayed Bissat, Director of the Finance Institute and Mrs. Tania Saba Mazraani, Executive Director of Berytech Technology Health, and was followed by a short documentary featuring the history and achievements of Berytech in the past ten years.

The ensuing panels covered a number of high-level talks around innovation, such as innovation as an economic driver as well as different means to encourage, foster and invest in innovation.

Mr. Maroun N. Chammas, President and CEO of Berytech, presented the experience of Berytech including the tools and services placed at the disposal of Lebanese entrepreneurs to foster and stimulate innovation in technology.
The audience hailed from different private and public institutions from France and Lebanon, as well as different Mediterranean countries such as Italy, Morocco, Spain, and Tunisia.

The innovation day hosted at Berytech, was part of a three-day tour in which the participants also met for further discussions at the Basil Fuleihan Finance Institute and the “Ecole Supérieure des Affaires” (ESA).
