In the occasion of the 50th anniversary of AUF “Agence Universitaire de la Francophonie”, the organization partnered with Berytech to launch the competition for the best "French-speaking Woman Entrepreneur," in July 2011, providing financial support to the winner and enabling project incubation at Berytech in order to create a successful startup.
Interesting projects were collected and participants had the opportunity to present their ideas in presence of a panel of experts, thus, receiving professional advice and feedback.
Following the final selection, the winner, Mrs. Rita Zoghbi, specialized in midwifery as well as obstetrics relaxation therapy and public health, presented a project plan to start a professional center for parenting purpose, providing the right support for couples and pregnant women from pre-birth phase to post-delivery, adding to this the adequate hosting environment for children from 40 days to 2 years old. The winner will receive a grant to integrate the incubator of Berytech, getting the right coaching and follow up with experts, in order to develop the business plan and feasibility study and startup the project.

Various criteria were considered to select the appropriate project, such as feasibility and economical viability, the involvement of the candidate, quality of the team and the innovative aspect of the project in relation with the following topics: environment, sustainable development, new technologies, health and life science, tourism and cultural heritage.
The awards ceremony was held November 24, 2011 at Balamand University, rewarding the winner Rita Zoghbi, who declared "Today, while gaining your trust, I feel enthusiastic and ready to startup this project, while receiving the right support for entrepreneurs.” |
