Berytech took part in the 48 hours of social entrepreneurship event, animated and organized by ESSEC Business School, held on June 8 & 9, in Paris.The program started by a conference, followed by workshops under the following theme "Assessing the social impact: from ambition to practice".
Sessions were led by international experts, practitioners and researchers in the field, and included presentations and interactive discussions around the development of social innovation as well as the social economy and many other topics such as the role of new technologies in promoting social entrepreneurship, tools used by investors to evaluate and measure social impacts as well as indicators and criteria for investing in social enterprises.
The next day, a meeting was held at ESSEC School, at the institute of social innovation, gathering partners and representatives of academic institutions, from Europe, Africa, Middle East, Quebec and the United States, interested in social entrepreneurship. This meeting aimed at discussing the Global Social Venture Competition, a competition in social entrepreneurship, offering several opportunities for interested entrepreneurs, where good practices were shared and additional opportunities were offered.
Being partners for Lebanon and the region, Berytech and Saint-Joseph University will launch the GSVC competition in September 2011, thus, contributing to the development of new horizons in entrepreneurship in the region. |
