From April 18 to April 20, 2011, Berytech Technology & Health hosted a seminar on Environment & Sustainable Development organized by “L’Agence francaise de la francophonie” (AUF) featuring local as well as international panelists and participants from the scientific community.
With Lebanese, French and international representatives from academia, public and private sectors as well as local and global organizations, the seminar tackled Lebanon’s environment challenges and put forth best practices from other markets.

The three-day program featured 6 environmental panels, 10 case studies from the Middle East, 6 workshops and round-tables and 50 speakers from 7 countries. Maroun N. Chammas President of Berytech and APIC (Association of Petroleum Importing Companies) spoke on the role of the Lebanese banking sector in supporting green initiatives and theorized that this sector has been largely absent from environmental concerns whereas many steps can be taken from an investment point of view or within the framework of a corporate social responsibility policy.

Building on a long partnership for joint incubation, Berytech and AUFalso announced a call for proposal for an Incubation Grant for a Women Entrepreneur presenting a francophone project. Details of this grant will be available on this website soon. |
