21 Trainees Complete the Regional Academy for Young Entrepreneurs programme Print

Image Berytech and Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation announced the names of 21 trainees from 4 Arab countries (Lebanon, Syria, Jordan and UAE) who successfully gained key insights for turning their entrepreneurial ideas into sustainable business ventures at the one-week training program hosted by the Regional Academy for Young Entrepreneurs (RAYE), a joint initiative of Berytech and the Foundation.

Maroun Chammas, President of Berytech Technological Pole and Adel Al Shared, Vice-Chairman and Managing Director of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation, awarded certificates of completion to the participants at a ceremony held at the Berytech premises in Mar Roukoz. The event was attended by senior officials from both organizations as well as instructors and professors of the academy. Certificates of appreciation were also given to all the instructors and professors who contributed to the success of this first edition.
During a short welcome word, Mr. Chammas declared: “Berytech will always be available to follow-up on the proposed projects, so do not hesitate to contact us for future assistance. We praise the support of the Foundation to entrepreneurship, and would like to announce one of the next joint initiatives with the Foundation which is the second edition of the Entrepreneurs Forum which will be held in Beirut on March 3 - 5, 2010.”
Al Shared said: “This is the first of a series of programmes conducted under the aegis of the RAYE initiative. We hope young entrepreneurs who attended the programme will take with them the essence of their learning as well as the feedback they received from the jury, and incorporate the critical analyses into their own projects. The five-day programme comprised several workshops in which a team of business leaders and professors guided the trainees through modules spanning basic entrepreneurship skills to planning and structuring sales, business opportunities identification, marketing tactics, strategic branding, business planning, building financial projections, financing start-ups and enhancing presentation skills.

The feedback provided by the jury panel of industry professionals was aimed at helping the trainees turn their dream projects into a reality.
