The first Arab Incubators Network meeting takes place in Berytech Print

ImageOn May 22, 2009, 6 Arab incubators, including Berytech gathered at the technology pole in Mar Roukoz, in the presence of high level delegates of Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation, in a first of its kind meeting, to introduce the Arab Incubator Network and develop further exchange and partnership among its members.

The network main mission is to contribute to the economic growth, job creation and entrepreneurship stimulation in the Arab world.

Besides Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation and Berytech, the meeting featured the presence of the following: Syria ICT Incubator, Palestine Information and Communications Technology Incubator, Al Akhawayn Incubator, Higher Colleges of Technology, and Bahrain Business Incubator Centre.

Mr. Maroun N. Chammas, President & CEO of Berytech, Dr. Nicolas Rouhana, Director of Berytech Technological Pole, Mrs. Tania Mazraani, Director of Berytech Technology and Health and Mr. Sami Beydoun, Managing partner of Berytech Fund, introduced the mission of Berytech in addition to the strategy adopted with entrepreneurs. They also outlined the importance of this meeting, its objectives and its positive potential outcomes.

Different members introduced their respective organizations, sharing incubation experience, strategies, financial resources and success stories.
New ideas were generated and further involvement and activities were suggested to expand the network and increase entrepreneurship promotion in the Arab world.
Mr. Laith I. Kassis, General Manager of PICTI, declared: “I was given ideas to what can be done at future events in Palestine. Thank you again for your leadership and efforts exerted in promoting innovation and entrepreneurship in the Arab region”.

Dr. Monica Gallant, Higher Colleges of Technology, added: “It was my pleasure to attend. I learned a lot from my fellow incubator managers and it was very interesting to see Berytech!”

The meeting concluded with a tour of Berytech facilities and hosted companies, and ended with a business lunch.
The Arab Incubators Network meeting took place in the sideline of the Entrepreneurs Forum, founded by Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation and Berytech and in which all the incubators participated as exhibitors and speakers.
