From February 8 to February 11, 2009 Berytech delivered a training session to the staff of the Project Management Unit (PMU) within a program for the “Support to Research and Technological Development & Innovation Initiatives & Strategies in Jordan (SRTD)” which is constituted mainly of fresh graduates with high potential, but limited working experience.
The training, which aims to render the team more effective in a working environment, was carried out at the Higher Council for Science and Technology in Amman where the PMU is headquartered. Consisting of a 16-hour course, equally divided between lectures and workshops, Managing Economic Resources was delivered by Berytech Technology Pole Director, Dr. Nicolas Rouhana, and covered the construction of a balance sheet for a project or department; Interpreting and constructing a profit and loss statement; Differentiating between fixed and variable cost and Constructing a budget.
Miss Nadeen Al-Tamimi, Monitoring Officer declared: “the course was excellent to improve our skills in financial principles. The creative approach to account management that the trainer described explained many issues that I need to do my work in monitoring.” Miss Mona Al-Najdawi, from the PMU staff, commented: "I think that Berytech trainers are the best trainers ever.They have a way in explaining subjects that allows every trainee to gain information and enjoy learning."
"I took similar courses in my MBA degree but I found Dr. Rouhana to be the best instructor in explaining this subject a unique and effective approach, said Miss Maral Nersessian; this was a very useful".

The SRTD Project works towards increasing the contribution of Jordan’s Research & Technological Development (RTD) and Innovation sectors to Jordan’s economic growth and employment, by developing the country’s scientific and technological capacity. It is managed by a Program Management Unit (PMU. In a nutshell, the SRTD Project aims at developing an innovation culture based on a spirit of international cooperation and competitiveness, as well as on collaboration between the research community and the business sector focusing on the development of innovation-based products and services, and their marketing and commercialization (under the protection of IPR and patent regulations).

Berytech is member of the consortium providing Technical Assistance to the project. Other consortium members include Transtec, the European Business & Innovation Centre Network (EBN), Centre de Recherche Public Henri Tudor and Aide à la Décision Economique (ADE). |
