Adyan Education is a project of ADYAN (Lebanese foundation for interfaith studies and spiritual solidarity).
Its concept is that of a new type of both a service and a product that aims to produce a Magazine in Arabic on religions with an interactive Portal based on Web 2.0 technology.
The portal of Adyan education is an online platform joining cultural information with interactive tools in Arabic for the Arab world. While it presents factual and scientific information about world religions and intercultural relations, it does not perceive the “customer” as a mere receiver but provides him/her with a space to interact and to contribute to the editing of the Magazine with his/her ideas, questions, thoughts or research.
The concept thus changes the order of usual websites related to Magazines. Instead of being a second reality offering what is already published on paper, Adyan education is a prior one enhancing the preparation of the content by subscribers’ interactivity and contribution and prolonging their implication after the publication of the Magazine issue.
In a second step, the “customer” can access an e-learning sector containing LOR and e-courses offered by Adyan Education on subjects related to religions and intercultural relations.
Adyan Education aims to reach a wide range of people and institutions, through its three activities: the Magazine, LOR, and e-courses. The LOR and e-courses will be both in Arabic and in English. Adyan Education wishes by that not only to reach the Arab population but also to present to the English-speaking world information about matters related to religion in the Arab world.
