A panel of judges selected the best project submitted within the course “From Idea to Startup” which was delivered for the second year in a row by Berytech, within the curriculum of the Faculty of Engineering at Saint Joseph University (ESIB). In the 2008 edition of the course, Byblos Bank, one of Berytech’s shareholders, offered a cash prize for the best projects presented.

From Idea to Startup is a course designed to teach entrepreneurial skills in terms of management, marketing, finance and business planning to engineering students within the framework of their curriculum. Instructors included team experts from Berytech in the areas of entrepreneurship, management, finance and marketing.

The students, grouped in teams, put the learning into action by presenting startup projects. The most promising idea was selected by a panel of mixed expertise. Winners received cash prizes and certificates of merit. Their project will be financed by Byblos Bank through a Kafalat Innovative-guaranteed loan and the company will be incubated in Berytech.
By sponsoring this project, Byblos Bank has reinforced its commitment to the engineering faculty of USJ (ESIB), and for the support of young Lebanese in projects that will guarantee them a prosperous future. |
