For the fourth consecutive year, Berytech participated in Forward, the Forum for Orientation and Recruitment which took place at BIEL from April 17 to 20, 2008 attracting and encouraging aspiring entrepreneurs to take the leap.
Hundreds of visitors stopped at Berytech’s stand to enquire about the incubator service and registered their names with Berytech’s mailing list to receive further updates regarding conferences, training and miscellaneous business development services proposed. Dozens of aspiring entrepreneurs also received free one-to-one advice sessions, from Berytech’s accredited counselors, regarding startup projects.
A compelling conference titled “What it takes to be a successful entrepreneur” held on Saturday witnessed a strong turn out. Delivered by Berytech’s Director of Communication, Tania Saba Mazraani, it tackled the merits and challenges of being a technology entrepreneur in Lebanon and explained the functions of incubation.
A testimonial from one of Berytech’s incubatees, Edulab entrepreneur Elie Chaaya, winner of Berytech’s 2005 Incubation Award and 2007 Arab MIT Business Plan Competition, drove the message home. An intense Q&A demonstrated the level of interest stirred by the information.

In line with Berytech’s tradition, a prize draw was held at the conclusion of the conference and one of the participants was able to take home a valuable printer while others won a number of smaller prizes. In this year’s edition of Forward, the exhibitors’ list which included 140 members, a substantial increase from last year’s 120, featured large private companies, recruitment agencies, associations, professional orders, higher educational institutions, training and cultural centers. Thanks to the participation of Berytech, BADER and Kafalat who had joined forces in the framework of this event, an Entrepreneurship Area was introduced to the exhibition floor for the first time. Berytech has several public events on its agenda in the coming weeks and months, most prominently:
