Berytech participates in student workshop for Women in IT
Women in IT (WIT) joined forces with Women in Engineering section of the IEEE NDU Student Branch to organize an event titled “Career paths in Engineering & Technology" that took place on Saturday 8 March 2008 at NDU campus from 9:00 to 3:00 PM.
March 8 was also International Women’s day, which honors women human rights defenders who dedicated their lives to promote justice and equality for women, adding flavor to a colorful event.
Five technical sessions allowed successful women in technology careers to share their experience and wisdom with students from different Ieee clubs in Lebanon, from NDU to AUB an BAU. The audience was largely made up of men and women engineers and engaged the lecturers in challenging questions.
The speakers included Hala Makarem (independent consultant), Tania Saba-Mazraani (Berytech), Odile Abou Mrad (Computer Associates), Maysa Yaman (Cedarcom), and Nathalie Awad (New Horizons).
Berytech took advantage of its participation in this event to promote entrepreneurship among young Lebanese men and women urging students to stay in Lebanon and make use of the support that Berytech places at their disposal to launch their own startups.
Several students have since contacted Berytech with follow up queries and project submissions.
